Evidence of
Cupping [Hijama] in Islam
“ There is a remedy for every disease and when the remedy is applied to the disease, it’s cured with the permission of Allah, The Exalted”. (Recorded by Muslim)
2204 صحيح مسلم كتاب السلام باب لكل داء دواء واستحباب التداوي
It would be noticed that the hadith refers to the fact that cure is dependent on the permission and will of Allah. The remedy might be used in the wrong manner or dosage that it does not heal. Medicine can be taken for treating one disease but it causes other diseases as well. All these are also some effects that leads to not been permitted by the Almighty Allah otherwise one gets healed.
Anas
(may Allah be pleased with Him) said:
“Verily, when Allah created the disease, he created the
remedy therewith, so seek treatment, “Recorded by Ahmad.’’
With this, one if one conclude that finding
or seeking medications from the prohibited foods, substances, thins might be
allowed, yet;
Abud-Darda (May Allah be Pleased with him)
narrated that the prophet (s.a.w) said:
“Verily, Allah made the disease and the cure and He made
for each disease a cure, so, seek treatment but do not seek it with unlawful(Matters)’’
[Abu Daawud].

This hadith warns muslims against using
medicines collected or made from haram (prohibited substances). Checking on any
record of medicine, it should be noticed that medicines that are alcoholic and
its groups are prohibited by Allah.
Question: How will I prevent death using medicines or cupping?
Every human being wished
immortality especially when what the heart covets are gotten in multiples. Man
loves to stay eternal whereas Allah decreed that living on earth is just a stay
that lasts not infinite. The question simple can be answered by the report of Usamah bin Shuraik (May Allah be pleased with
him) narratetd that the prophet said:
“O servants of Allah!
Seek treatment for Allah did not create a disease without creating a cure
therefore, except one disease (which is) death” At-Tirmidh, al Hakim, and Ibn
Khuzaimmah considered it to be an authentic hadith. In another narration, he
said ”Except As-sa’am”,which is death.
Does this mean not seeking remedy to diseases seem meaningless?
Seeking medications to diseases gives room
for the body to perform its duty and the soul to embrace the healthiness with
happiness. He who is healthy knows not what being rich is all about, neither
does he know how friendly the environment is. Prevention as its being said is
better than cure serves as the gateway to worshipping Allah to its fullest and
otherwise.
Cupping as a tool to enhance healthiness
through its curative property thereby its preventing the body from illness is
not to be nullified.
Why
Cupping?
A programmer writes series of codes, runs it
and finds it successfully working. He sends the program to his client who after
some years eventually noted that it fails to run as usual. What might have gone
wrong? Amazingly he reached out to the programmer to ask what to do. The
programmer analysed it and asked him just to follow the prompt. But the promt
reads thus: “Delete the a in the stda” in line 6. Line
6 reads “using namespace stda;”
What do we expect when the blood in our body
has been running through our veins for many years without been excreated. The
septic blood are just like an undigested food that remains in the stomach
without being emptied. So why not deleting the a in stda for the program to run?
Why not using cupping to delete the congested septic blood.
It is recorded by
At-tirmidhi from Ibn mas’ud and by Al-Baihaqy that the prophet (Peace Be Upon
Him) said;
“Whenever I passed by a group of angels, on my night
journey, they said, “O Muhammad I order your people to practice cupping! [Sahih
AL-Jami’ Hadith no 5671].
“Healing is in three things: a gulp of honey,
cupping and branding with fire (Cauterizing). But I forbid my nation from
cauterizing., 4

Also it was narrated
“The best
thing you can seek for treatment is cupping.” Al-Albany remarked on this
hadith in Ash-Shamail Al-Muhammadiyyah saying, “The speech is to the people of
Hijaz and the likes of the inhabitants of hot countries, as cupping differs
according to time, place and mode. (Tibb Nabawiyy)

Man can be affected by serious psychological pain. The amount of adrenaline hormone increases in his body as a result of hyper activity of the adrenal glands. When this effect increases and continues, the result is high blood pressure, which originally affects the heart and the kidney. One is trapped into a vicous circle.
